KAREN WALKER, a New Zealand based designer who has cartoon inspired designs for modern day sunglasses. Known for combining masculine and feminine qualities that create a playful and structured look that are symmetrically pleasing to the eye! Most designs are rimmed with tortoise shell or solid glossy neutral colors with some bold few thrown into the mix. Coming across this Philebrity post reminded me just how much we here at It's Always Sassy are in love with James Franco. To be honest, I can't blame the Craigslist poster. At least he/she had the gall to ask for two personal assistants who look like such dreaminess. We're not talking about his acting skills or his intelligence. Just look at him:
Lately, I've been on a bit of a design craze. I never knew how difficult choosing colors was until I was making over my desktop. Colors are more important than you think. Choosing the right ones are a pretty deal, whether you're picking out colors for web design or redecorating a space in your house. See:
I just love the idea of creating and selling color! <3 Pantone.
Kind of a "what's in your backpack" thing, except no George Clooney :/. However, it definitely inspired me to de-clutter my files and bookmarks. I've found I can't start something without cleaning the area around me, so this is ~inspirational~. Next, my closet.
Adobe offers this site were you can create and share color palettes for download. They even have an Air application which, if you're into it, you can download and use to access the themes without opening the webpage.
This company is called Ferm LIVING est. in 2005. Based out of Aarhus, Denmark they specialize in wallpaper, wall stickers, cushions and cards. Their wallpaper is the best however, and the wall stickers are very trendy but unique in a sense. Below, a sample of some items I loved, they also have a blog as well as an official merchandise website ( links below)
Valentino 2010 Spring Haute Couture. "Hidden Eden" was the name given to this collection, apparently imitating "elongated insects" is what the goal was. I thought it was marvelous, without knowing all the excess information. The colors are brilliant and pastel-neon is what I like to call this naturalistic display of design. I don't care if it's Rodarte-inspired, it's pretty and whimsical and I DIG IT!
Try your best not to drool; I sure did and not just over the male models.
Selections are personal favorites. I love this collection which is why I chose to post some highlights. Beginning with the first look- felt like mexican to me. Moving to militant, prim with clean lines then onto cargo pockets mostly found on green khaki. Then some plaid is introduced with the whole punk culture as an underlying statement (atleast i believe so). Lots of black paired with blue denim, even patchwork too! Shiny buttons, mostly neutral pallet except the reds and blues. LOVE the fur head cap. Classic.
